Nanotechnology RevolutionPlay Video A true revolution is a permanent and irreversible change in the way people live and work. You are about to participate in a true revolution - one predicted long ago by Albert Einstein - the Nanotechnology Revolution! Today, almost 100 years later, Nanotechnology has arrived. It is destined to produce incredible new products in many different fields - health care, aerospace, medicine, fabrics, electronics, ceramics, engineering, environmental protection, and the biological sciences. "Nanotechnology has given us the tools...to play with the ultimate toy box of nature - atoms and molecules...the possibilities to create new things appear to be limitless." - Horst Stormer, Columbia University, Nobel Laureate
"...four of the defining technologies of the 21st century will be nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, and environmental science. As a result, the potential both for improving the quality and increasing the length of life has never been greater." - Malcolm Gillis, President of Rice University A nanometer is one billionth of a meter, or approximately 50,000 times smaller than the width of just one strand of your hair. Nanotechnology involves the manufacture and manipulation of molecules from 1-100 nanometers in size. RBC's Microhydrin® silica hydride molecules are 1-5 nanometers in diameter. Nanotechnology offers the potential to create new, advanced RBC supplements and skin care products made with nanoscale ingredients. We refer to this group of products as Nanoceuticals™.
Announcing Four New Nanoceutical Products The Manufacture and Formulation of RBC NanoceuticalsTM In December 2001, the RBC Team of Scientists was expanded. Dr. J. Lee Phelps was appointed Director of Research and Development at RBC. He earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Columbia University, and a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Chemistry from the University of California. He has had a distinguished 25-year career in R&D, formulation, and management of factories manufacturing nutritional products. In January, Dr. Phelps began developing new products for RBC. We asked him to develop a new process to make an even better Microhydrin that would be proprietary to RBC and consistently exclusive to RBC Associates. No. 1 Nanoceutical - Microhydrin® We are extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Phelps and the RBC Team of Scientists have developed a new process to manufacture a more effective Microhydrin®! It provides powerful hydrides as demonstrated by independent NMR analyses at two major universities, and by extremely low ORP readings. It scavenges free radicals as shown on the ORAC test, and other tests on specific free radicals. The ORAC tests for activity against the most abundant free radical in biological systems, the peroxyl radical, which can litteraly collapse the cellular membrane. This is why the ORAC test is now used to ascertain biological antioxidant potential more than others. Among antioxidant scientists, the ORAC is the gold standard test to evaluate the effectiveness of an antioxidant. Microhydrin consists of molecular cages, 1-5 nanometers in diameter, made from a silica-mineral hydride complex. On exposure to moisture it releases H- ions, as an antioxidant dietary supplement. Scavenges Free Radicals The new Microhydrin also scavenges more free radicals, which is the reason you take antioxidants. In tests at an independent university laboratory, new Microhydrin was 828% higher in ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) than our original silica hydride.
The ORAC analysis, which utilizes Fluorescein as the fluorescent probe, provides a measure of the scavenging capacity of anitoxidants against the peroxyl radical, which is one of the most common reactive oxygen species (ROS) found in the body. Trolox, a water-soluble Vitamin E analog, is used as the calibration standard and the ORAC result is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent (TE) per gram. This test shows that, as an antioxidant, RBC’s New Microhydrin is 828% stronger than our original silica hydride. Stimulates The Source Of Energy Unlike other antioxidants, RBC's new Microhydrin has also been shown in an independent university study to reduce NAD to NADH the precursor of ATP, our source of energy.
Increases Hydration Reduces Muscle Cramps Caused By Lactic Acid During Exercise Microhydrin has been shown in a double blind clinical study to reduce the levels of lactic acid during strenuous exercise. The study report was published in a peer-reviewed medical journal. See reference 1. Reduces Oxidative Stress Microhydrin was shown in a double-blind controlled clinical study to reduce oxidative stress. No. 2 Nanoceutical- Microhydrin® Plus™ Free radicals occur in many different forms. Some are oil based. Some are water based. They respond to, and can be scavenged by different types of antioxidants. Therefore, to scavenge the greatest number of free radicals, we need a broad spectrum of different types of antioxidants in addition to Microhydrin. Eight different antioxidants have been combined with Microhydrin to attack different types of free radicals. Microhydrin is synergistic. It recycles other antioxidants by providing them the electrons they have lost. No. 3 Nanoceutical - RBC NanoClusters™ The RBC Team of Scientists also developed a new microcluster powder called RBC NanoClusters™ in dry powder form as an advancement over our original powdered microclusters. When combined with nutritional supplements and consumed, it reduces the surface tension to cause a wetter, more absorbable nutrient.
Manufacture of Products at RBC The RBC Team of Scientists creates the proprietary formulas used to make RBC products. They are manufactured today with the same high quality standards utilized since the company was founded in 1991.
Laboratory Controls at RBC After RBC products are manufactured they are tested in our QC laboratory. Our chemists carefully make certain that the ingredients in the products are exactly the same as stated in the formulas and on the labels. Our lab retains samples of every production run. If ever a question were to arise, we need only the lot number. We can retest it in our laboratory and at independent laboratories. How Antioxidant Scientists Evaluate Antioxidants The principal function of an antioxidant is to scavenge dangerous free radicals that attack our bodies. Therefore, the best way to evaluate an antioxidant is with a test that actually measures free radical scavenging. NMR: It indicates only the structure of molecules, not the function. It does not measure free radical scavenging at all. If the results are used to compare with other products, an independent laboratory that has no economic interest in the results must perform the tests. Otherwise there is no assurance that the samples are the actual product. ORP Meter: It is an accurate measure of the reducing capacity of the antioxidant in a liquid, but does not necessarily measure effectiveness in scavenging free radicals. ORAC TEST: Most antioxidant scientists consider the ORAC test to be the "Gold Standard" to evaluate antioxidant activity. In April 2002, we introduced Microhydrin Plus™, Microhydrin® with eight additional antioxidants. To be certain it was a more effective scavenger of free radicals, we sent samples to an independent laboratory. The scientists compared Microhydrin Plus™ with our original silica hydride. These tests showed that, Microhydrin Plus™ is 126 times stronger than the previous silica hydride.
*The ORAC analysis, which utilizes Fluorescein as the fluorescent probe, provides a measure of the scavenging capacity of antioxidants against the peroxyl radical, which is one of the most common reactive oxygen species (ROS) found in the body, ORAChydro reflects water-soluble antioxidant capacity and the ^ ORAClipo is the lipid soluble antioxidant capacity. ORACtotal is the sum of ORAChydro and ORAClipo, Trolox, a water-soluble Vitamin E analog, is used as the calibration standard and the ORAC result is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent (TE) per gram.
