The system works like this: both the browser and the secure server have a private and a public encryption key. The private key always remains with the owner, the public key is sent out.

First, the browser requests a public key from the server and uses this, along with its private key, to form a unique encryption algorithm.

Then the browser sends its public key to the server. The encrypted message can now only be de-encrypted by the server, as only the server can recreate the unique algorithm using its private key and the public key from the browser. Not even your own browser can de-encrypt the data.

Throughout the transmission, nobody can see your details, most importantly your credit card details. And thus, the success of our secure server.
